We want to make applying for a grant as easy as possible for those organizations that meet our guidelines (see brochure). We hope that our requirements listed below are clear and fairly simple. If you have any questions, please call.
REQUIRED:
1) A ONE PAGE executive summary, listing:
-Date
-Name and address of organization
-Contact person
-E-mail address, telephone, fax and web address
-Specific, brief (1 or 2 sentences) statement of purpose of funding request
-Amount of current organizational budget
-Amount of project budget, if applicable
-Dollar amount you are requesting
-Signature of the executive director and the board chair
2) A concise statement (about FIVE PAGES)
-giving the history, mission and activities of your organization, and
-describing in plain English the specific project you are requesting support for - what is the need and what exactly are you doing (or do you propose to do) to address it?
3) The current, up-to-date operating budget (revenue and expense) of : a) your organization, and b) the project you are seeking support for. In some cases these may be one and the same. We are particularly interested in administrative costs, including salaries and number of paid staff. Budget should include part or all of the future grant period we are asked to fund.
4) A list of foundation grants received in the last full year (name of foundation and dollar amount of grant.) Please include the date of the year, such as "2004" or "April 2004-March 2005."
5) A list of your Board of Directors.
6) A copy of your letter from the IRS establishing the non-profit status of your organization.
